What are the sizes you are using for Meta ads? I sell mostly on IG and FB feeds and stories. Still, I´m not sure if I should make my videos vertical for reels and stories or 1:1. What´s working best for you?

Yes — Feeds and Stories are still two of the highest-performing placements on Meta, and using the correct creative sizes is crucial for maximizing performance. Here's what most advertisers (especially eCommerce and DTC brands) are using in 2025:

Recommended Meta Ad Sizes (Feeds + Stories Focus)

PlacementFormatSize (Pixels)Ratio
Feed (Facebook & IG)Image/Video1080 x 10801:1
StoriesImage/Video1080 x 19209:16
ReelsVideo1080 x 19209:16
Explore / In-StreamVideo1280 x 72016:9 (Optional for some placements)

Best Practices:
  • Use 1:1 square for Feed to ensure it looks clean across Facebook & Instagram.

  • Always upload a dedicated 9:16 vertical creative for Stories and Reels. Auto-cropping reduces performance.

  • Make sure all assets are under 4MB and optimized for mobile-first viewing.

Pro Tip:

Even if you're running only Feeds & Stories, Meta may still deliver across other placements. Use “Manual Placement + Asset Customization” to assign the right creatives to each slot.
