When your Amazon account is suspended, all listing and fulfillment settings are locked — meaning you can’t change an FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) product to FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) until your account is reinstated. Amazon does this to prevent sellers from bypassing suspension rules by switching fulfillment methods and continuing sales through another channel.
Once your account is active again, you’ll regain access to listing management. At that point, you can easily convert your FBA products into FBM listings. To do this, go to Seller Central → Manage Inventory, locate the ASIN or SKU you want to change, and click Edit. Under the Offer tab, look for the section labeled Fulfillment Channel. From there, select “I will ship this item myself (FBM)” instead of Amazon fulfillment.
After saving the changes, the listing will appear as FBM, allowing you to handle packing, shipping, and customer service directly. Make sure you update your shipping settings, handling times, and inventory quantities before reactivating the listing to avoid late-shipment penalties.
Switching to FBM can be a smart move if you want more control over operations or to avoid future FBA complication, but it should only be done once your account’s standing is fully restored.
