Give a Google Local Services Ads (LSA) campaign at least 30 days before deciding that it is not working, provided the campaign is receiving enough leads to produce meaningful data. For a new or heavily changed campaign, 60 to 90 days may be more appropriate for evaluating sustained results.
A useful evaluation timeline is:
- First 1–2 weeks: Check setup, eligibility, budget, service areas, lead quality, missed calls, and tracking.
- Weeks 3–4: Look for patterns in lead volume, lead quality, cost per lead, and booked jobs.
- After 30 days: Make the first meaningful assessment based on actual lead and customer data.
- After 60–90 days: Evaluate whether the campaign can consistently generate qualified leads at an acceptable cost.
Do not judge an LSA campaign only by lead volume. A campaign generating fewer leads can still be successful if those leads have a high booking and close rate.
The campaign should be considered unsuccessful when it consistently fails to generate qualified leads or profitable customers after sufficient data has been collected and reasonable optimization has been made.
